Umständehalber abzugeben – Bilder, Zeichnungen, Randständigkeiten

Painting gone out of fashion yet again? Authenticity and individual authorship even more so? Overshadowed by greed, fraud and forgery scandals, the art scene increasingly appears to mistake itself for art.

In view of the above Beck & Eggeling are presenting at this year's open gallery weekend an exhibition devoted 'only' to the painted image. This is in itself nothing unusual for a prominent painter like Heribert C. Ottersbach, known for his systematic investigation of such an 'uncool' medium.

It is the gallery's conscious decision to make way for Heribert C. Ottersbach's critical stance on the development of the art scene and the status of painting itself in this commercial day and age pervaded by an overabundance of digital images.
